Andrea Phillips, Founder & Artistic Director of the Ebenezer Praise Dancers

Andrea Phillips began dancing during her childhood and studied dance of various styles until high school.  Upon graduation, she attended UNC-Chapel Hill to pursue a degree in Elementary Education, and later worked at Rashkis Elementary School in Chapel Hill.  During these early adulthood years, she founded the Ebenezer Praise Dancers--the liturgical dance ministry that she has directed for the past nine years; in addition, she founded AAP Dance—her Christian dance training and mentoring business.  Through her extensive dance activity, Andrea realized how important and powerful dance is in her life and enrolled at Meredith College to pursue dual degrees in Dance Education and Private Studio Teaching.  At Meredith, she is member of Meredith Jazz and Tap Company and Meredith Dance Theatre—audition based dance companies.  In addition, Andrea is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda, academic honor society, and Nu Delta Alpha, dance honor society.  She also teaches for NC Arts In Action (an in-school dance and self-esteem building program) and several private studios in the Triangle.  Andrea is thankful to God for being able to share her gifts with so many young people and for the opportunity (and scholarships) to attend college again to pursue her passion.
